| NGA 2015 On Wednesday, April 1st, DRHSART students will be visiting the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. This trip will allow the students the chance to see, in person, the artists and artwork that we have studied in class this year. Additionally, we will be combining our trip with AP European History classes taught by another teacher at Deep Run to encourage cross-curriculum learning. We plan on having a great day! Parents—please contact me at [email protected] with any questions and/or if you may be interested in traveling with us as a chaperone or as a guest. If you have not been to the NGA in a while, it would be a wonderful way to spend your day! Not only will the students have the opportunity to see the permanent collection of our nation and some of the world’s best artwork, but they will also get to see special traveling exhibits that are currently on display. Once we arrive at the museum, the students will be broken into groups of five. To ensure safety, each group will have at least one student with a cell phone, and will be required to meet at check points throughout the day. No group of students will be permitted to leave the grounds of the National Gallery at any time. **There is a gift shop at the gallery that has all things “art”! If your student would like to purchase some items, we will be stopping there on our way out. Please have them bring cash for those items as well. ** |
