Ritual is an idea that has been connected to art throughout history. It is an open-ended term that can mean different things to different cultures, generations, and people. This project will serve as a pause in your normal work pattern, however do not be afraid to utilize the skills you have. With this project you will be expected to explore your own art making and time management even further. Do not be afraid to set up your own deadlines. For this assignment you will be asked to explore the term ritual. After discussing ritual as a point of inspiration for art makers through history, students will determine what the term means to them. Come up with your own definition and brainstorm ideas you want to explore. Art making is always better when you care about the subject. Decide if your purpose for this project is to bring to light a ritual that others need to know about, or if it is to relay a personal experience relating to ritual. | ||||
